Nissan Expands the 2027 Kicks Family With the Adventurous New Rock Creek Grade

Ontario drivers who want a compact crossover that can handle a gravel road without stepping up to a bigger SUV have a new option. Nissan has confirmed the 2027 Kicks Rock Creek, an off-road-focused grade built for weekend trips and daily driving alike.

This is the first Rock Creek version of the Kicks, joining the Rogue and Pathfinder Rock Creek models already sold at Nissan dealerships. Here is what is confirmed so far, and how it fits alongside the rest of the 2027 Kicks family.

What’s Confirmed for the 2027 Kicks Rock Creek

Rock Creek is the newest grade in the 2027 Kicks family, built on the Kicks SV. It gives Nissan’s compact crossover its own rugged, adventure-oriented variant for the first time, rather than replacing any existing grade.

Every Rock Creek comes standard with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine rated at 141 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque, and an Xtronic transmission. An exclusive Off-Road driving mode adds unique traction-control tuning for slippery ground, and Hill Descent Control helps manage speed on loose descents.

Rock Creek’s Place in the 2027 Kicks Lineup

The 2027 Kicks lineup spans four grades: S, SV, Rock Creek and SR. S, SV and SR are offered with front-wheel drive or optional Intelligent All-Wheel Drive; Rock Creek comes standard with AWD only, layering its off-road tuning on top of the SV’s feature set.

Choosing AWD trims some cargo room compared with FWD grades, since the drivetrain hardware sits under the floor. For Rock Creek shoppers, that trade buys standard all-wheel traction and off-road tuning the FWD grades don’t offer.

What Matters for Kicks Shoppers Right Now

Rock Creek looks distinct from the rest of the Kicks lineup. Gloss black mirrors, gloss black front and rear fascias, gloss black exterior trim and an exclusive upper grille give it a tougher stance, while amber Daytime Running Lights and accent lighting set it apart after dark.

Standard roof rails and cross bars are rated to carry 165 lbs (75 kg), giving owners a way to haul kayaks, skis or bikes without giving up cargo space inside. Rock Creek also rides on exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/60R17 all-season tires.

Ground clearance measures 214.2 mm, with an 18.0-degree approach angle, a 26.7-degree departure angle and a 19.3-degree breakover angle. Together with the Off-Road mode’s traction tuning and Hill Descent Control, Rock Creek is built to handle gravel, sand and snow without losing momentum.

Inside, Rock Creek gets its own Leatherette and Ballistic Nylon seating with accent stitching, a TailorFit-wrapped heated steering wheel, heated front seats and Rock Creek-branded floor mats. Seating for five includes 1,083.4 mm of legroom and 1,008 mm of headroom, figures shared across the Kicks range.

A 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard, and Rock Creek carries four USB-C ports for front and rear passengers. An available Bose 10-speaker Personal Plus sound system upgrades the standard audio setup for shoppers who want richer sound on longer drives.

Rock Creek adds Rear Automatic Braking and an HD Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection as standard equipment, on top of the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite that includes Automatic Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Those two driver-assist features aren’t standard on the SV, which matters for shoppers weighing the grades on safety alone.

Availability for Ontario Drivers
